PB&J Smoothie

I just love protein smoothies!  They’re my favorite way to start the day.  Protein smoothies make me happy because they hold an infinite amount of possible flavor combinations.  Also, I absolutely love the mix of crunchy peanut butter with smooth jelly, but because I don’t eat bread (even gluten-free bread) I rarely get to enjoy this delicious duo.

So then one day I had an idea…Why not combine all of this amazingness into something even more amazing?

And that is how my PB&J Smoothie came to be!

All you need is 1 frozen banana (if not frozen, then add ice), 1 cup almond milk (or milk of your choice), 1 Tbsp peanut butter (almond, cashew, or sunflower butter works well too for those with a peanut allergy!), 1/4 tsp vanilla extract, 1/3 to 1/2 cup assorted frozen berries (I used strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, & raspberries), and 1 serving vanilla protein powder (optional).  Blend and  top with a handful of granola!  Enjoy ❤  By the way, don’t forget the cute straw and mason jar! 😉

Fun Foodie Fact: Berries have been proven to prevent the type of cognitive decline that is natural with age, so it’s incredibly important to munch on these antioxidant-filled super foods!
